This notice explains how Trident Electronics (U.K.) Ltd handles information collected through this website and initial enquiries. It does not describe every use of information by an installed alarm, CCTV, access-control or monitoring service. Relevant service information must be provided separately when those services are arranged.
Who is responsible for your information?
Trident Electronics (U.K.) Ltd is the controller of website enquiry information. We are registered in England and Wales, company number 06927607. Our head office and registered office is Imperial House Atria, 79–81 Hornby Street, Bury, BL9 5BN, United Kingdom.
Contact us using the enquiry form, call 0161 355 6877 or write to our head office marked “Privacy”. You can use any of these routes to ask about your information or raise a concern.
What we collect
- The form asks for your name, email address, service of interest and message. Phone number and property postcode are optional.
- Messages are emailed to our business inbox and stored in our website database using Contact Form 7 and Flamingo. Message records can include submission time, page, IP address and browser information.
- Website hosting and security systems may record technical details such as IP address, requested page, time and errors. Our form protection also uses a hashed IP-based request counter that expires after ten minutes.
- If you choose to change the animation setting, the website can remember that preference on your device. See our cookies and device storage notice.
Please do not send alarm codes, passwords, payment card details, CCTV footage or sensitive security information through the enquiry form. Providing your details is voluntary, but we need a way to contact you to answer an enquiry.
Why we use it and our lawful bases
- Quotations and requested services: to respond to a request you make before entering a contract, or to perform a contract with you.
- General enquiries and business contacts: our legitimate interests in answering questions, communicating with customers and managing our business relationships.
- Security and fault diagnosis: our legitimate interests in preventing spam and misuse and keeping the website reliable.
- Privacy requests and legal requirements: to meet applicable legal obligations.
The enquiry form does not subscribe you to a mailing list. It does not make automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects. Automated spam checks may block a submission; if that happens, please contact us by phone or post.
Who can receive the information?
Enquiries are handled by people authorised to deal with them. Website hosting, email, backup and technical-support suppliers may process information to provide those services. Information may also need to be shared with professional advisers or public authorities where necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims or meet legal obligations.
Contact Form 7 and Flamingo run on our website; using those plugins does not itself send your enquiry to their developers. If an enquiry leads to a service requiring another provider, such as remote monitoring, we will explain the relevant arrangements when that service is discussed.
How long information is kept
We determine retention by whether the enquiry is still being handled, whether it leads to an ongoing customer relationship, and whether records are needed for a complaint, legal claim or statutory record-keeping obligation. Information should be deleted or anonymised when those reasons no longer apply. Backup copies may remain until the relevant backup cycle ends. Contact us if you need information about the records held for your particular enquiry.
External websites and AR features
Following a manufacturer or augmented-reality (AR) link takes you to that provider’s service, where its privacy notice applies. AR may ask for camera access on a compatible device. You can decline permission and use the product photographs instead. Our enquiry form does not request access to your camera.
Hosting, email and support arrangements determine where enquiry information is processed. You can ask us for information about the suppliers, processing locations and any international-transfer safeguards relevant to your enquiry.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you can ask to access, correct or erase personal information, restrict its use, or receive information in a portable format. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing.
You have the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests, including our use of information for general enquiries and website security. Tell us about your circumstances so we can consider your request. You can always object to the use of your information for direct marketing.
Contact us by form, phone or post. Requests are normally free and answered within one month. Where the law permits an extension or requires clarification or identity checks, we will explain this. Rights are subject to applicable legal conditions and exceptions.
Concerns and complaints
Please use our complaints procedure if you are concerned about how we handle information. We will acknowledge a data-protection complaint within 30 days, investigate without undue delay, keep you informed and explain the outcome.
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). Visit ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or call 0303 123 1113.
